Regardless of your fitness level, if you want to improve your health or simply feel good in your body, yoga is for you. The series is designed for beginners as well as experienced practitioners so previous knowledge of yoga is not a requirement. As you continue to practice hot yoga you will notice how the practice continues to evolve, adapting to your new level and needs. Although every class may feel different, you will always leave balanced and refreshed.
Bring a large towel, a yoga mat and bottle of water. Bring two masks, so you can change one in the middle of class!
For best results, you should practice at least 3 times a week, optimally 5 times a week, to maintain the benefits and continue to evolve. We encourage you to come as often as you can as a beginner. Hot yoga requires self dedication and determination in order for you to receive full benefits from your practice.
In the beginning you may find that the heat, combined with the postures (asanas), is too much for you. You can always sit through a pose ( or two... ) if necessary during class, and then start again. You are only requried to do the best you can each class. Your best will always be different from your neighbor's and will change from day to day. As you practice with consistency you will find that part of the practice is developing a non-judgmental, self-acceptance of your physical and mental capacities with each day. Avoid leaving the room during class so you can become acclimated to the heat, however, if you do leave, know that you can always come back in. At first the heat may be your biggest obstacle but over time you just may find yourself looking forward to the heat and the great sweat!
